My 4-year-old actually sits still for these, which says a lot. The search and find scenes have enough tiny details to keep her hunting for a good 20 minutes, and I like that she's picking up new words while she's at it.
I wipe these mats clean with a damp cloth and they're ready to go again, which is a lifesaver on road trips. My 4-year-old has started pointing out objects I completely miss, so the observation skills thing is clearly working.
My 5-year-old hunts for the objects on these mats for a solid 20 minutes, which never happens with anything else. The vocabulary side is a nice bonus, she's picked up words like 'lighthouse' just from circling them.
