My son finished all three ocean animals in one sitting, which never happens with crafts. The fabric squares stick without any glue, so I didn't have to hover or clean up afterward. Stringing them into a mobile for his room was his favorite part.
My daughter has never been able to sit still for crafts, but the fabric squares keep her hands busy poking through the foam without any glue or markers to clean up. We hung the finished whale and starfish on her door with the string, and she’s already asking for the ocean set again.
My 6-year-old finished a seahorse in one sitting and actually asked to do another instead of grabbing a tablet. The foam pieces are sturdy enough to survive being poked repeatedly by little hands, and threading them into a garland was a fun bonus we didn't expect.
